Bra Sizing
Your bra size is calculated using your overbust and full bust measurements. This guide will help you get the cup size and band size you need with Picara Threads patterns.
Measurement Tips
- If you can, wear a non-constricting bra with no padding while you are measuring.
- Stand up straight and check that the tape is snug against your body and parallel to the ground.
- Exhale and keep your elbows near your sides before noting the final measurements.
Overbust: Circumference of the chest above the main breast tissue, (where bra straps usually attach)
Full bust: Circumference of the chest over the fullest part of the bust.
Underbust: Circumference of the chest directly under the bust.
Band Size
Take your overbust measurement and round down to the nearest even number. This will be your band size.
Example: If your overbust is 37”, then your band size would be 36.
Cup Size
Subtract your calculated band size from the full bust measurement. The difference will determine your cup size.
Example: If your full bust is 38 and your determined band size is 36, the difference is 2, making you a B cup.
